Our Weekend Services

Church can be an intimidating place to visit — especially if you don’t know what to expect. We invite you to experience what the gospel means at our Sunday morning worship service. Come just as you are and encounter what God is doing. We hope that through visiting with us, you will experience the hope, love and joy that comes from a community of people who love Jesus. Worship starts at 11:00 am.

Authentic Worship

We look for God’s love in our lives as the evidence that we have been truly worshipping Him. At First Baptist, worship is central to what we do, because God has commanded us to worship. Psalm 95:6 says, "Come, let’s worship and bow down; let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker."

Worship means learning to recognize God’s goodness while delighting to deepen in our responses to Him.  It means purposing together, as individuals and as a community, to unite our actions, intentions, and emotions in loving response to God. It is when we stop and remind ourselves that we are in relationship with a God who is bigger than us, and who loves us more than we can imagine. It means transforming the ways we think so that what we do and who we are become one—in, for, through, and to the Father, Son, and Spirit.

Worship is a practice that helps keep us dependent on God for everything. We will worship through songs, scripture reading, prayer and giving in our gatherings.

Teaching from Scripture

We believe that practical, relevant teaching is the catalyst for transformation in an individual's life. Scripture is inspired by God, completely accurate and our authority regarding Christian beliefs and the guide for Christian living.

We value Scripture—the Bible—as the basis for understanding who God is and how to orient our lives fully around Him. You can expect that each Sunday morning will include a set-aside time for hearing from Scripture, as well as practical teaching surrounding God's Word.

During the year, we will preach verse by verse through books of the Bible, and follow that up with a few topical series that help expound on the themes from the books we have been studying.

First time at First Baptist?

We know that attending a church service for the first time can be a super scary thing... Being unsure of what the dress, culture or even when to stand up and sit down can be a weirdly paralyzing thought! At First Baptist, you can expect friendly and authentic people, heartfelt music and worship, relevant preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to encounter God. You will be encouraged and maybe even challenged.

If it is your first visit, do not worry about what to wear. Worship in what is comfortable to you. Know you will be welcomed as you enter and then we encourage you to participate as much as you feel comfortable during the service. We will give you plenty of heads up on when to sit and stand, and we will put the words to the songs on the screens so you can join in. If you arrive before 11:00, stop by the hospitality room at the back of the sanctuary and enjoy some donuts and coffee and get to meet some of our members!
